Black to the Future
Join us in addressing a pressing issue facing Black Canadians - underemployment. Our program aims to shed light on the systemic challenges that lead to underemployment and explore strategies for creating more equitable opportunities in the Canadian workforce. Through workshops, panel discussions, and guest speakers, participants will gain insights into the root causes of underemployment and its impact on individuals and communities. We'll also discuss solutions, including mentorship programs, diversity and inclusion initiatives, and policies aimed at leveling the playing field. By fostering dialogue and collaboration, this program seeks to empower individuals and organizations to work together toward a more inclusive and economically just Canada. Together, we can bridge the employment gap and create a brighter future for all.
Black to the Future particularly aims to address the underemployment of Black people in Canada who are in early to middle-age (35-65) to improve employability and entrepreneurial skills. Black to the Future will encourage 35-65 year old Black people from Canada to use community action as a first step to becoming active citizens in order to re-engage with the economy.
