2027 to 2030 Strategic Direction

  • AFIWI’s next strategic period focuses on depth, measurable results, and sustainable community partnerships in Toronto.

Priority 1: Strengthen pathways to participation

Deliver focused employment, skills, leadership, and service navigation programs that help participants move toward their own education, employment, civic, and wellbeing goals.

    Priority 2: Build intergenerational belonging

Create consistent spaces where youth, adults, families, and seniors can form relationships, exchange knowledge, reduce isolation, and contribute to community life.

Priority 3: Advance community food wellbeing

Develop practical food growing, cultural food knowledge, and community food activities that increase skills, connection, and access to fresh food.

Priority 4: Strengthen AFIWI’s capacity and accountability

Improve governance, program measurement, financial sustainability, communications, partnerships, and the systems required for safe and effective delivery.

Progress will be measured through participation and completion, participant experience and sense of belonging, learning and employment outcomes, referrals and access to community supports, partner contributions, program safety and continuous improvement, and revenue diversity.
